Why Do Babies Cry?

Babies often cry even when all their needs have been met such as feeding changing and loving. Babies cry for more sensitive reasons. The idea of 'letting him cry it out' might not seem so appropriate (eg. controlled crying). The quickest way to produce disturbed, interrupted sleep is to isolate your baby in an empty room in unfamiliar territory of a completely open space.

Babies need assurance that you are close at hand. They cry less when they feel safe and secure.

Searching for their 'lost' environment, they strive to regain the comfort and support they so recently left. In Natures Nest baby bed, you'll find your baby will soon discover the world to be the wonderful place he so eagerly needs it to be.

With a snug, secure bed and back and forth motion (as mother moved and walked) along with the gentle bouncing motions sleep patterns can be quickly transformed from erratic, short and disturbed spells, to deep peaceful nights and contented days.

Babies sleep problems Prevent them!

The arrival of a new baby is a wonderful experience for any new parent, but most will say getting baby off to sleep and the sleep deprivation is where the difficulty lies. Sleep for babies is most important for physical growth, the immune system, brain development, learning, and memory, as well as many other systems of the body. For a newborn baby to grow, thrive and to be content they should to sleep for approximately 15 hours a day. Babies have different sleep patterns to adults. Adults spend 75 to 80 per cent in deep sleep and 20 to 25 per cent in shallow sleep. Babies spend 50 per cent of their time in shallow sleep which means they wake more easily. We are given lots of advise on ways to help our babies sleep, such as soft music massage and bathing, but rarely a mention of their bed where they actually sleep.

More than 50% of babies who suffer from sleep problems continue to suffer from sleep problems when they reach preschool and school age. Which is why establishing a healthy sleep pattern and choosing the right bed for your newborn is one of the most important decisions you, as a parent, will make.
